Well, here we are, with the dreaded lurgi, in February. But you don't want to hear about that. You want to hear about what are the latest carryings on in the Jeffrey's world. Or maybe you don't, but here's a bit anyway.
We had a great Fine Food Show in Harrogate, is the first thing. Or at least, when asked have we had a good show, we said, 'guess we'll know in 3 months'. You just don't know what proportion of the prospects that come to your stand will actually turn out to be sales. But the fact that some major retailers appeared to think we might be worth carrying was very encouraging. One woman walk past our stand with a scowl, muttering 'who wants tonic anyway', which we found amusing. It was offset by the absolutely effusive Lauren from York Coffee Roasters, who so loved Jeffrey's Original.
We did Chorlton Makers' Market last weekend and that was equally encouraging. It is a joy when people taste Jeffrey's Tonic for the first time and say 'Oh my God, that is amazing!' In fact, one guy actually said 'That is the best drink I have ever tasted.' He didn't appear to be under the influence of drugs or drink, so we're going to take him at face value on that. It was great for my mate Steve to join us in Chorlton. Seems he will be part of the team for the foreseeable, so if you're at markets in the North West of England or whatever festivals we do this year, you may well get to meet him.
Louise has been with us for a while, as Technical Manager, helping us in the first place get SALSA accreditation, which is one of the quality approvals required by retailers, essentially saying the product is safe and that we have records in place which attest to the quality of our products. She used to be a senior global quality manager at Heinz, so she knows what she's talking about.
We just need to get the word out now about how great Jeffrey's is.. wish us luck! :-)
